Larry Nicholson is Cree from Montana 1st Nation at Hobbema,
Alberta but now calls un-ceded Coast Salish Territory (Vancouver) home.
Graduating with a Fine Arts degree from UBC’s Creative Writing Department, Larry
has written for newspaper and TV, but also written, directed and performed for
the stage, as well as appearing in independent film. A consultant in a variety
of fields, he presently does family intervention work with a non-profit 1st
Nations organization serving the Lower Mainland.
Larry will publish a collection of poetry in 2012 titled Storm & Grace. He has published variously in collections such as Wreck Magazine, One Cool Word, Gatherings: The En’owkin Journal of First North American Peoples, The Ubyssey, and Salish Seas: an anthology of text + image.

This literary "Road Man" despises TV and is free man like his father before him. Poetry is the bliss Larry follows while sporting calloused fingertips from playing his guitar each day until sleepy.
Larry will be one of the featured performers at the upcoming Doors Open 2012: Poetry Nature event:
Sunday May 6 ~ 1:30 to 4 pm
Richmond City Hall Council Chambers6911 No. 1 Road (at Granville), Richmond BC
Larry managed to slip what some say is the longest word in the English language ~ "antidisestablishmentarianism" ~ seamlessly into a poem. That's some savvy word-wrangling!
